These terms explain the basic rules for using Penpal International. They are designed to keep the community welcoming, safe, and useful.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using an account on Penpal International, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not create or use an account.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password and sign-in methods secure and for activity performed through your account.

Penpal International is intended for people who are legally able to use an online social service. Do not create an account for someone else, impersonate another person, or maintain multiple accounts to evade a restriction.

3. Public profiles and messages

Information you add to your public profile may be visible to other visitors. Do not publish information that you do not want to share publicly. Messages are intended for personal, respectful communication between members.

4. Prohibited behaviour

You must not use the service to:

  • harass, threaten, stalk, exploit, or repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop;
  • share sexual, abusive, hateful, violent, or illegal content;
  • target children or use the service to facilitate exploitation;
  • send spam, scams, malware, advertisements, or unsolicited commercial offers;
  • collect profiles or personal information by automated means without permission;
  • pretend to be another person or misrepresent your age, identity, or intentions; or
  • interfere with the service, bypass security, or attempt unauthorized access.

5. Safety and moderation

Use good judgment when communicating with people online. Do not send money, passwords, identity documents, or sensitive personal information to another member. Penpal International cannot verify every statement made by members and does not guarantee the identity, intentions, or safety of any member.

We may investigate reports, remove content, restrict features, or suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or threaten the safety of the community. Where appropriate, we may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You give Penpal International permission to store, display, and technically reproduce that content as needed to operate the service. You confirm that you have the right to submit it and that it does not violate another person’s rights.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, security work, or circumstances outside our control. Features may change as the service develops.

8. Account closure

You may delete your account from the account page. We may close or restrict an account when necessary to enforce these terms, protect members, or comply with legal obligations.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Penpal International is provided without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. You use the service and communicate with other members at your own discretion and risk.

11. Changes to these terms
